Meanwhile, the brokerage issued ‘outperform’ ratings for Indus Towers and Tata Communications. Other notable recommendations include a ‘hold’ on Bharti Hexacom and Sterlite Technologies, and an ‘underperform’ on Vodafone Idea, reflecting its ongoing challenges.
He added that discussions will start soon to finalise the timing, the stake sale quantum and the minimum price (floor price) in keeping with Sebi rules. Both the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the finance ministry will be involved in the exercise.
Indus Towers gained 5.5% while Bharti Hexacom shares increased by 4.5%. Tata Teleservices and Bharti Airtel advanced 1.8% and 1.6%, respectively.
In April this year, the public sector firm sold 15% equity of the total 30% it had in Sunil Mittal-driven Bharti's unit Bharti Hexacom that fetched Rs 4,275-crore to the state exchequer at Rs 570 per share.

Bharti Hexacom, which went public earlier this year, operates mobile services in Rajasthan and Northeast circles. Parent Bharti Airtel retains a 70% stake in Bharti Hexacom, post its IPO.
Bharti Hexacom listed on the exchanges on April 12, 2024, at a premium of 32.45%. The stock debuted at Rs 755 on the exchanges as compared to the offer price of Rs 570.
The total number of sites/villages to be verified by ITI is around 34,415. However, the Administrator of the USOF may increase or decrease this figure, as per the work order.
